The Fourth Gastrological Forum of Gastroenterologists’ Syrian Society

The Fourth Gastrological Forum of Gastroenterologists’ Syrian Society was sponsored by Ibn Al Haytham Pharmaceutical Industries. It was held on Thursday, 10 May 2012, at Four Season hotel in Damascus.

A large group of Gastroenterologists from Damascus attended the Forum in which they discussed various topics about the latest updates and the international recommendations.

The opening was with Dr. Firas Razouk, the General Manager of Trading Sector at Ibn Al Haytham Pharmaceutical Industries, where he introduced the company vision and its strategic goal. After that, a talk about the Gastroenterologists’ society activities in 2012 was presented by DR. Nazir Ibrahim, the head of Gastroenterologists’ Syrian Society. Then, the lectures were distributed as the following:

 The first Lecture by Dr. Nazeer Ibrahim about non-alcoholic cirrhosis.

 The second lecture by Dr. Maher Khoder about the pharmaceutical treatment of non- alcoholic cirrhosis.

 The third lecture by Dr. Sameer Haffar about Maastricht recommendations of Helicobacter Pylori treatment.

After a short break, Dr. Fayez Sandouk presented a lecture about Biliary Ducts and the latest updates about this subject. Another lecture was also presented by Dr. Ayman Ali about chronic pancreatitis and its updates. Then, Dr. Abdul Almonem Swaid introduced a lecture about electro surgical treatment.

At the end of the forum , Dr. Mazen Sabouni , Product Manager at Ibn Al Haytham Pharmaceutical Industries , had a discussion about Omecarbonate “ Proton Pump Inhibitor “ and Opicadril “ an anti – diarrhea “ in which he explained in details the efficacy and the merits of both drugs .
